The Director of Finance & Administration will provide leadership and management of the National Theatre of Scotland (NTS) finance and administration functions, supporting colleagues on the senior management team and providing strategic advice to both the executive leadership and the Board.

As a member of the Senior Management Team you will work with the Chief and Deputy Chief Executives to provide consistent and clear leadership of NTS. You’ll contribute to the development and implementation of our business planning and lead on the financial strategy supporting our strategic plan.

We’re excited by people who will bring that unique blend of skills, including technical acumen (CCAB - qualified), creativity and ability to develop and inspire others. We want you to be excited about interrogating our systems and processes, finding ways of bringing people together to make things as efficient as possible and driving effectiveness and sustainability.

We deliver some of the most innovative and creative theatre, known globally for its boldness, and with ambitious plans for the future. 

In this newly created post, the Head of HR will ensure a professional HR service is delivered that meets the needs of National Theatre of Scotland. It will involve developing models and systems around the full range of HR initiatives and interventions whilst building capacity and capability within the company. 

You will use your HR experience and knowledge to lead in areas such as performance, policy, development and learning, people and resource planning and of course ED&I. You will act as a trusted adviser to the company, providing pragmatic advice, support and guidance on people issues.

You will be skilled at working closely with managers to support and develop best practice and have a proven track record of building credibility. Whether it is systems, processes or approaches, you will have high standards and seek to make National Theatre a leader in this space. You may be CIPD qualified or working towards this; what is more important is your ability to tackle HR issues in such a way that value-add is experienced by the company.
